# Configuration & Visuals

config.yml options, trolley materials, and translations

Customization options for server configuration, riding feel, and trolley designs.

## Server Configuration (`config.yml`)

The global configuration file is located at `plugins/Zipline/config.yml`:

```yaml
# Zipline Plugin Configuration
# Language file (loads from locales/<language>.yml)
language: "en"
# Anonymous metrics collection via bStats
metrics: true
# Check for plugin updates on startup
update_checker:
  enabled: true
  notify_admins: true
cable:
  # Thickness of the cable rope (in blocks)
  thickness: 0.055
  # How far away players can see the cable (in blocks)
  view_range: 128
motion:
  # How often movement updates (2 ticks = 10 times per second)
  tick_interval: 2
  # Visual smoothing duration for client displays
  teleport_duration: 3
wand:
  # Material for the setup wand
  material: BLAZE_ROD
```

## Riding Dynamics & Physics

Ziplines naturally feel fast, dynamic, and realistic:

* **Cruising Speed**: Set on each line with `/zipline edit <id> speed <bps>` (default: 12 blocks/second).
* **Slope Acceleration**: Downhill stretches give a natural speed boost (up to +40%), while uphill climbs slow down realistically.
* **Gentle Station Braking**: Trolleys automatically decelerate as they approach stations for a smooth arrival.
* **Corner Banking**: The trolley tilts into turns as it follows curved cables.

***

## Designing Custom Trolleys

Every zipline can have its own custom visual style:

### Cable & Seat Colors

* **Cable Color**: Uses concrete colors (`BLACK`, `WHITE`, `RED`, `GRAY`, `BLUE`, etc.).

  ```bash
  /zipline edit <id> cable_color BLACK
  ```
* **Seat Cushion Color**: Uses wool colors.

  ```bash
  /zipline edit <id> seat_color RED
  ```

### Material Swapping

Swap out any part of the trolley rig to match your station build theme:

```bash
/zipline edit <id> crossbeam SPRUCE_PLANKS
/zipline edit <id> chain IRON_BARS
/zipline edit <id> frame POLISHED_BLACKSTONE
/zipline edit <id> clamp IRON_BLOCK
```

To reset all materials and sizing back to standard:

```bash
/zipline edit <id> reset_offsets
```

***

## Language & Messages

All messages and titles can be edited in `plugins/Zipline/locales/en.yml`:

* Supports color codes (`&6`, `&a`, `&c`, etc.).
* Available placeholders: `%prefix%`, `%zipline%`, `%player%`, `%seconds%`, `%cost%`, `%currency%`, `%amount%`, `%item%`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://mavenverse.gitbook.io/mavenverse-docs/configuration-and-visuals.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
